ABOUT OUR
FOUNDATION

HOW WE GOT HERE

Anna Faye Trent was our second daughter- a bright eyed blessing to our family with an infectious smile and and overflowing amount of personality (and blonde hair). She absolutely loved wearing sparkly dresses, watching her favorite movie, Frozen, and giving her signature hugs to everyone in our family.

On Father’s Day, 2016- one week after Anna’s 4th Birthday, we spent the afternoon at a private club pool. We spent several hours swimming as a family and enjoyed having dinner next to the pool. After everyone had finished eating, we decided to head home. The adults were packing up and some of the kids returned to the pool for one. last. swim.

We watched as Anna returned to the shallow mushroom play area for what we thought was a few minutes of fun. Moments later, our lives were forever changed. Although the pool had very few swimmers and was surrounded by lifeguards and adults, Anna slipped into a swimming area where the water was slightly above her head. Our beautiful little girl was gone in an instant.

Although our hearts will never heal from this tragic loss,we are resolved to make sure we can save as many lives as possible- there is a comfort found in the actions we take together to safeguard others from experiencing such pain.

Her loss on a seemingly safe family day out left us with a mission: to prevent childhood drownings by increasing awareness of water safety through

CREATING A SAFER ENVIRONMENT AROUND WATER

SAY NO TO PUDDLE JUMPERS

Here at 4 ANNA, we honor her memory by empowering families with the knowledge and tools to ensure water safety for every child.

WHAT WE DO

The pain of our experience drives us with unwavering determination to ensure that no other family endures such heartbreak. We do this because we recognize the critical need for comprehensive water safety education and proactive drowning prevention measures. Every initiative, every program, and every partnership we forge is rooted in the belief that education can transform fear into preparedness, tragedy into prevention. We do it because we know the power of prevention, the strength of community awareness, and the impact of teaching children and their guardians life-saving water skills.

Scholarships for self-rescue swim lessons that empower children with the
skills to survive.

Community workshops and resources to elevate awareness about the risks and preventive measures of drowning.

Scholarships for lifeguards, ensuring that more lifeguards are supported and empowered to prevent tragedies.

WHO WE DO IT FOR

We dedicate our efforts to children and families everywhere—from those who frequent pools and beaches to those who live in communities where water safety education is not readily accessible. Our initiatives are for every parent who fears water could one day take away their joy, for every caregiver who watches over children at play, and for every community leader who believes in creating safer environments. Ultimately, we do this for Anna, and for every child like her, so that their future may be as boundless and bright as the waters they safely enjoy.
